Why Horses?
The horses have a big role to play and are a critical differentiator in the training we provide. Horses naturally look for leadership and need to be part of a herd with a well-functioning social structure. For them, it is a matter of survival.
Horses consider us part of their herd and need to feel safe to cooperate and accept our leadership. They are looking for the same kind of leader that we are. Someone confident, who communicates clearly and consistently, and who has compassion and understanding. They are highly perceptive and they’ll provide an honest, real-time performance review. They play no politics when you’re off track, and they respond positively when you get it right!
We often don’t recognize these qualities in ourselves, but the horses do. And our trained facilitators can help you understand their reactions, and apply the learning back to the office. Participants listen! They want to have success with the horse which leads to tremendous growth in self-awareness of development areas, a strong desire to develop the right behaviors, and the opportunity to implement those changes and be immediately rewarded by the horse. How Does It Work?
Our proven Equine Assisted Learning curriculum is at the core of these transformational experiences. Each corporate team-building exercise is objective-based and has been carefully developed and tested in research for effectiveness in creating behavioral change. These are then combined to deliver unforgettable and high-impact training and team-building events that create lasting results.
The creator of this program has over 20 years of experience leading high-performing teams in the public and private sectors. We bring together the knowledge and experience of horses and the challenges corporate teams and leaders face to build programs that deliver results. Our team of certified EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) Facilitators have also been chosen for their passion, professionalism, and diverse backgrounds. We get it — we have walked in your shoes.

Established in 2012, Dreamwinds Equine Assisted Learning Centre is located on 22 picturesque acres in North Carolina. Your host, Tracey Evans, left her successful career as VP of Merchant Marketing for American Express to pursue her passion and deliver this unique approach to team building and leadership development. Using horses as guides, Dreamwinds is proud to offer unforgettable training and team-building experiences for corporate teams, youth, families, and private groups. I found this course extremely engaging! You had to fill your role as a team member in your group or you would bring down the team. Definitely not easy, but very worth it! I would come back in a heart beat!
